I am a research fellow at the University of Palermo, with master’s degrees in marine biology and in Protected Areas, Natural Resources, and Biodiversity. My academic background has allowed me to explore the dynamics of natural ecosystems and their interactions with modern environmental pressures, through socio-ecological approaches, sampling activities, and underwater surveys for the monitoring of marine protected areas. More recently, I have focused on the impacts of anthropogenic stressors, such as marine litter and microplastics, on ecosystems and on environmental restoration efforts, with a focus on the conservation and more sustainable management of marine resources.
