Ricercatore

Sono un botanico marino con esperienza in biologia ed ecologia marina. La mia ricerca si concentra su vari aspetti delle foreste alghe marine e di fanerogame marine, tra le quali la distribuzione spaziale, le interazioni con specie non-native e gli effetti della complessità strutturale sulla biodiversità associata (es. macrofauna e microbioma). Sono particolarmente interessato a determinare quali sono i fattori che modellano la distribuzione e la risposta fisiologica di alghe e fanerogame marine, sia a livello individuale che a quello comunità, in risposta a fattori ambientali e stress antropici secondo scenari mutevoli influenzati dai cambiamenti climatici. Inoltre, sono affascinato dallo sviluppo di tecnologie innovative per monitorare sia variabili ambientali che tratti funzionali delle specie in ambienti marini. Tramite il disegno di esperimenti sia in laboratorio che in ambienti naturali, sono interessato a migliorare la comprensione delle risposte metaboliche delle specie di fronte alle mutevoli condizioni ambientali. Questo al fine di facilitare la creazione di strumenti per la conservazione degli habitat marini e la loro biodiversità associata.
